Everton Football Club has been shortlisted in four categories at the upcoming annual Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards 2014.

The Club, alongside catering partners Sodexo, has been nominated for a quartet of accolades recognising the facilities on offer at Goodison Park for both matchday and non-matchday conferences and events.

For the first time, Everton has been nominated for the Media Choice Award which is voted for by media attending matches across the UK in light of the recently re-launched and impressive new facilities on offer to visiting journalists at Goodison Park.

The Club has also been shortlisted for the Conference, Event Sales and Marketing Award which recognises the non-matchday side of the business and the high customer service standards.

Goodison Park boasts eight suites as well as pitch-side boxes that are available to hire for various events such as conferences, parties and weddings.

This award is given to the stadium that achieves the highest score from a mystery shop exercise in the handling of an event enquiry.

The events team at Goodison strive to meet these standards from enquiry to delivery of events and provide excellent customer service.

Everton’s Optimum Hospitality team have also received nominations in the categories of Star for the Future Award for Vinnie Shields, a member of the Club’s matchday and events personnel, and the Matchday Hospitality Award for Large Stadium which is voted for by professional Salon Culinaire chef judges who experience hospitality at UK clubs throughout the course of the 2013/14 season using strict criteria.

In 2013, the Club brought two of the prestigious awards back to Goodison when it received Gold First in Class for Chef Team of the Year in recognition of the culinary offerings available to hospitality members and Jameel Skeet-Pierre also won Silver in the Star for the Future category.

The 10th annual Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards will take place at a gala dinner at the KC Stadium on Thursday 5 June.

This week will also see the Stadium Business Awards take place in London where Everton have been shortlisted in two categories.

The Blues’ beloved stadium will face impressive competition, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Wembley Arena, for the Venue of the Year accolade and the Club’s ICT department is also shortlisted for the Unsung Hero prize.

Now in their fifth year, the Stadium Business Awards recognise leadership, innovation and achievement in the delivery, operation and management of sport facilities around the world.
