Phil Jagielka has already set Everton the target of surpassing this season’s record-breaking points haul.
The Blues skipper was a key figure as the Blues accrued 72 points in 2013/14 - their highest tally of the Premier League era.
But he admits that players and manager are already eyeing an even better mark next term.
Jagielka told evertontv: “Getting the record points total gives us something to try and beat next year. We should be even stronger because we know what to expect from the manager and his staff and he knows what to expect from us.
“It think it is going to be really exciting moving into next season.”
When Roberto Martinez was installed in the Goodison hotseat in June, Jagielka noted a sense of uncertainty over how Everton’s season would pan out.
But uncertainty was swiftly transformed into fervour as the Spaniard’s ideologies took hold.
Jagielka continued: “Bill Kenwright did a fantastic job getting Roberto and ever since, the Club has shone brightly and we have ridden the crest of that wave from day one right through to the end of the season.
“If expectations had been dampened when we changed managers, expectations are now sky high.
“It has been brilliant playing under Roberto."
Everton are holding a Great Seats Released event on 31 May and 1 June, with fans able to view and buy available seats for 2014/15, more info here.
