Russell Griffiths says Everton Under-18s were always confident they could seal the league title.
The second-year scholar lifted the Premier League trophy at Goodison Park on Saturday evening after a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the play-off final.
And in praising the Academy staff and his teammates, captain Griffiths says the optimism at Finch Farm has played its part in their glory.
He told evertontv: "It's been a very long season. There's been ups and downs but Kevin got us all together, we've been training well and it's fully deserved.
"The real vibe around the Club has been brilliant. We knew it was coming and we're so happy it came off today.
"That has to the best clean sheet this season, coming from the front right to our back-four. It was a brilliant effort from the lads and the fans really made it special. It was really helpful them being here.
"It's the best feeling . We were disappointed after being knocked out in the semi-final last year, but to come back this year and win it shows great determination."
