Derek Is 'We Go The Game' Winner

Derek Houlton is the winner of the ‘We Go The Game’ competition.

Five supporters had their matchday routines documented by evertontv – and Derek’s pre-match story – which can be viewed above - topped an online fans vote.

Derek’s prize is a pair of 2014/15 Season Tickets.

A former RAF serviceman, he has been an avid Evertonian since the Blues lifted the FA Cup in 1966.

“I cannot believe I have won,” he told “I meant what I said in my video that the Club means so much to me and I love everything about being an Evertonian. This has made my life.”

As a young man based in Germany throughout the week, Derek would travel back across the continent by coach routinely every other weekend to watch his beloved Blues in action.

Now living in Birkdale, he still has the same passion for Everton, making the journey – albeit much shorter – with the Southport Supporters Club.

And never is he present at Goodison Park without his treasured scarf!

Derek’s video was put together as part of the ‘We Are Evertonians' themed Season Ticket campaign, in which the Club launched a search to discover more about supporters, why they follow Everton and what makes matchdays at Goodison Park so special.

Fans have been flocking to book their places at Goodison for 2014/15 – and existing Season Ticket holders have until midnight on Sunday 18 May to secure their current seat for the coming campaign.

Last month's Early Bird deadline passed last month with 24,812 supporters having purchased or renewed their Season Ticket - a year-on-year increase of 21 per cent.
If you weren't one of those but still want to ensure you are watching Roberto Martinez's side from your favourite spot next term, visit the Park End box office, call 0871 663 18780871 663 1878* or click here to renew.

Alternatively visit the Everton Two store in Liverpool city centre.

Supporters will be able to renew up until midnight on Sunday online only. Sales via the Park End box office and over the telephone will cease at 4pm on Sunday, with Everton Two closing at 5pm.
