Roberto Martinez makes two changes to his Everton line-up for the visit of Manchester United.

Steven Naismith and James McCarthy come in to the side which lost at home to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, with wingers Aiden McGeady and Gerard Deulofeu dropping to the bench.

It means goalkeeper Tim Howard is again protected by a back-line of Seamus Coleman, John Stones, Sylvain Distin and Leighton Baines.

McCarthy resumes his usual position alongside Gareth Barry, while Naismith is joined in a front five by Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas, Naismith and Romelu Lukaku.

As expected, Wayne Rooney has shaken off a toe problem to start for the visitors. Former Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini is named on the United bench.

Everton: Howard, Baines, Mirallas, Naismith, Distin, McCarthy, Lukaku, Barry, Barkley, Coleman, Stones. Subs: Robles, Hibbert, McGeady, Deulofeu, Osman, Garbutt, Alcaraz.

Manchester United: De Gea, Jones, Evans, Mata, Rooney, Smalling, Carrick, Nani, Fletcher, Kagawa, Buttner. Subs: Giggs, Lindegaard, Hernandez, Welbeck, Valencia, Fellaini, Januzaj
