Everton in the Community is on the hunt for aspiring musical acts ready to show off their own brand of the Blues for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon and Half Marathon.

The Club is offering the city’s budding bands the chance to put themselves forward to play at the inaugural city event when it takes place on Sunday 25 May.

In total, four winners will be chosen to perform along the 26.2 mile route and do all they can to encourage the thousands of race runners.

The best of the acts, as voted by Everton supporters on Twitter and Facebook, will even get the chance to play on the main stage, which is to be located at the start/finish line by the city’s Echo Arena.

An X Factor-style panel comprising Club officials and Everton in the Community volunteers has been drafted to listen to all the nominations and draw up the shortlist of four lucky winners.

Fans will then be able to vote for their favourite online.

To enter, all you need to do is send a YouTube clip or sample of you or your band in action to before the 5pm deadline on Monday 21 April.

Goodison Park will be one of the many iconic city landmarks along the route of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon and Half Marathon, which is being held in partnership with Everton in the Community.

Musical acts will be performing throughout the day in support of the runners – and it’s not too late to join in the fun.

Everton in the Community have a limited number of race spaces remaining and supporters can apply to join the charity's team by contacting Amy Judge on the email address above.

Each runner – be it for the full or half-marathon – will receive a fundraising pack and a blue Everton in the Community running vest.
