Diehard Evertonian Tony Bellew is the latest subject of the My Matchday series.

Graeme Sharp, Andy Burnham and John Stones have all discussed their routines in recent weeks - and now the 31-year-old boxer, who last Saturday defeated Valory Brudov at the Echo Arena, is the next to be quizzed on his habits and rituals ahead of a Goodison game.

Don't forget you can share your matchday rituals and be in with a chance of winning a very special prize - visit evertonfc.com/WeGoTheGame now.

What routine do you follow on the day of a game?

I have a routine for when I’m in camp and when I’m out of camp.

When I’m out of camp, my routine is to get up, have breakfast and sort out the kids, which is a regular thing every day. Then I will normally go to Rotunda ABC gym in the morning and do the circuit, which is really hard strength and conditioning training. From there I will go up to the game, meet a few of the boys and have a laugh and a joke.

When I’m in camp, I will usually be up at six or seven o’clock in the morning, out onto the track for a workout, try and spend a little bit more time with my boys and then off to the game. It’s a tough and rigorous regime but it’s one I’m used to and one that works.

I get the hard work done in the morning and then it’s off to the game in the afternoon.

Are there any superstitions that you have on a matchday?

I walk the same route to the match every week. I don’t know if that’s superstitious, but I haven’t got anything like the same pair of underpants, vest or shirt that I wear on a matchday.

I used to have a top that I would wear but once we lost to Liverpool I deemed that to be a failure t-shirt and I burnt it!

I just turn up on a matchday, believe in the lads and believe that the team the boss picks can overturn anyone.

What’s special about the part of the ground you sit in?

I had a Season Ticket in the Gwladys Street for about five years. I loved sitting there, I really did. It was some of the best years I have had – I was in there for the Coventry and Wimbledon games.

I get stick off a lot of Kopites for saying they were great moments but I loved those games because they had the best atmosphere you could want to be part of. The FA Cup run in 1995, I had my Season Ticket then, so I have got fond memories of the Gwladys Street.

I then sat in the Park End for a couple of seasons and now I choose to sit in the Main Stand. But Goodison is special wherever you sit. On matchdays and when the fans are really up for it, it doesn’t matter where you sit in Goodison because you feel part of it.

But I have a special affinity with the Gwladys Street. I keep saying I’m going to go back there and when I do I’m going to behave like a 15-year-old kid again and go a bit nuts! I’m looking forward to it.

After the game – hopefully following an Everton win – what do you like to do in the evenings?

I usually go home and watch Saturday evening television. People aren’t going to be impressed with this but it’s normally X Factor or You’ve Been Framed with the kids because they love that.

The missus will then go upstairs and I like to relax and watch Match of the Day. But I get annoyed with the coverage sometimes because I don’t think we are favoured as well as we should be.

I’ll watch all the games because I’m a huge football fan but ultimately it’s all about Everton for me.

We are Evertonians. We go the game. That's what we do.
