Everton Under-18s will take part in this summer's Durban Under-19 International Football Tournament.

The inaugural competition in South Africa will see the young Blues compete against two home teams plus five other illustrious names from Europe and South America.

Roma, Benfica, Feyenoord, Boca Juniors and Santos join the South African national youth side and KZN Hoy Park Academy XI in the eight-team format.

There will be 16 matches over eight double-header match nights from 31 July to 9 August.

Everton's academy manager Alan Irvine said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been invited to such a prestigious tournament.

“It will be a great experience for our lads, especially at that time of year as it is right at the end of our pre-season and will be the ideal preparation for the league season."
