'Boss Pushing Me For Goals'

by Daniel Alston @efc_danalston

Steven Pienaar is targeting another memorable goal at Arsenal after revealing Roberto Martinez has encouraged him to add to his tally this term.

The South African found the back of the Gunners' net with an exquisite chip in January 2010 and the Blues find themselves back at the Emirates in this Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final.

And after hitting the post in last weekend's 1-0 win against West Ham United, Pienaar says he is desperate to add to his solitary strike in the current campaign.

He told evertontv: " is still fresh in my head. Hopefully I can do the same again, but the most important thing is for the team to win.

"I've been quite unfortunate the past couple of weeks. The manager has been pushing me - he's been telling me I have to score more, I have to get in the box, and the last couple of games I've done that.

"I've been getting closer and closer, so maybe Saturday I can get one."

With 90 minutes standing in the way of a semi-final outing at Wembley, the lure of a return to the capital is pulling at the hearts of Evertonians.

And after the Blues put in a sensational display of dominance on Arsenal's turf in the 1-1 draw in December, a sense of belief is also in the air.

But Pienaar insists the players remain level-headed going into the contest and that they will give their all as standard.

He added: "We're excited about going there, but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We just want to get out there, make sure we enjoy the game and give everything.

"We're one game away from Wembley but we don't want to put that into our heads. It's another big game. Every game we play is important.

"We went down there in December and tried to dictate the game. We wanted to play our way. But that's the past and it's a new game, a new challenge and we're looking forward to it."
