Everton chalked up one of their most convincing victories of the Premier League era when West Ham United visited Goodison Park in May 1999.
It was the perfect way to round-off the season on home soil as Kevin Campbell’s hat-trick inspired the Toffees to a 6-0 thumping.
Everton had been languishing near the drop-zone when the former England striker arrived on-loan from Trabzonspor in March of that year - but he netted an impressive nine goals in eight games to fire the Blues to mid-table safety.
Having notched successive braces against Coventry, Newcastle and Charlton, Campbell’s fine run continued against Harry Redknapp’s Hammers.
He struck his first after 15 minutes, with further goals from Michael Ball and Don Hutchison leaving the Blues to revel in a commanding 3-0 advantage at the break.
Campbell netted against shortly after the restart, before completing his triple 12 minutes from the end.
Late on, Francis Jeffers put the gloss on a memorable win for the Blues.
