Roberto Martinez has been handed an unexpected bonus with Darron Gibson and Arouna Kone now likely to feature this season.
The pair, who are currently recovering from serious knee injuries, were originally set to miss the rest of the 2013/14 campaign.
But their hard work, combined with the diligent undertakings of the Club’s medical team, means that both players are likely to play before the end of the campaign.
Martinez reported: “Darron Gibson is progressing really well and I do feel he will be back before the season ends, something which is a real bonus.
“Maybe it’s too early to give clear date but I expect him to be playing again in May, which is just a credit to his hard work.”
Striker Kone had made just a handful of Everton appearances before being beset by his own knee injury.
Martinez added: “Arouna Kone will be very similar, I expect him to be involved before the season ends, which is a tremendous credit to the medical department as well.“
