Last month, Leighton Baines committed his future to Everton by putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract.

The left-back joined fellow defender Sylvain Distin in agreeing a revised deal, ending months of speculation about his future and whether he would remain at Goodison Park.

With the dust now settled on news fans had been longing to hear, Baines sat down to speak to evertontv.

In an in-depth interview, the England international discussed:

- The key factors behind his decision to sign a new contract at Everton
- His relationship with Roberto Martinez
- Why working under the Spaniard has driven him to become 'a thinker'
- Why he hopes his best football is still ahead of him
- His footballing ambitions and how he feels he can achieve them with Everton
- The season so far and why he feels the Blues deserve credit for maintaining a European charge

Fans can watch the interview above now or by navigating to the 'Video' section of the Official Everton App.

Tickets for Sunday's game at Tottenham are now sold out. Your next chance to see Baines and Co in action is when Crystal Palace visit Goodison Park on Wednesday 12 February (7.45pm).

Tickets for the game are now on general sale and you can secure your seat by clicking here or calling 0871 663 1878.
