Everton Seek Traore Work Permit

by Matthew Gamble @efc_mattgamble

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that he is trying to bring Lacina Traore to Everton.

The 6ft 8in Monaco striker has been the subject of much media speculation in recent days.

Everton will now attempt to gain a work permit for the player, with a view to acquiring him on loan.

Martinez said after the Blues’ 1-1 draw with West Brom: “Lacina is a player that we are very interested in.

“We need to get over that (work permit) hurdle first and then if we can get through that it will be a good addition to the squad.”

Traore, an Ivory Coast international, joined Monaco earlier in this transfer window from Russian side Anzi Makhachkala.
