James McCarthy is back in Everton's starting line-up in for the game at Swansea.

The Irish international's return is one of two changes made by Roberto Martinez following last weekend's 4-1 win over Fulham.

McCarthy is back from suspension and replaces Leon Osman in midfield.

Kevin Mirallas also starts in place of hamstring injury victim Gerard Deulofeu.

There are also changes on the bench where Apostolos Vellios is handed a rare listing among the substitutes and there's no Nikica Jelavic.

The back four and goalkeeper remain unchanged, with Leighton Baines still out with his broken toe.

Romelu Lukaku leads the line with Ross Barkley likely to be his closest support.

Everton: Howard, Coleman, Oviedo, Jagielka, Distin, McCarthy, Barry, Mirallas, Pienaar, Barkley, Lukaku. Subs: Robles, Heitinga, Naismith, Osman, Stones, Vellios, Alcaraz.

Swansea: Tremmel, Tiendalli, Chico, Williams (c), Davies, Canas, Shelvey, de Guzman, Routledge, Hernandez, Bony. Subs: Zabret, Amat, Taylor, Britton, Pozuelo, Lamah, Vazquez
