Roberto Martinez was delighted to share the Everton fans' joy after the 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Everton ended 21 years of winless trips to Old Trafford with a dramatic late victory courtesy of Bryan Oviedo's late goal.
The players were backed by a hugely vociferous travelling support and Martinez was delighted to reward them with three points.
He told evertontv: "There is a real sense of pride, because we came here with a real determination to be ourselves and I think we did that.
"Collecting three points here is something we haven't done for a long time so it gives you a little bit of extra feeling that I want the fans to share. I want the fans to be extremely joyous of the mentality the players showed on the football pitch."
Fittingly, Everton's winning strike was scored in the goal closest to the 3,000 Blues fans.
Martinez continued: "We had been discussing which end would be better to attack in the second half and there were differing opinions. We thought if we could make opportunities in front of our fans in the second half they would make a big, big difference to the confidence we need to have in front of goal. It worked out extremely well."
The Goodison chief was also delighted to see Oviedo rewarded with a second goal in as many games after having to watch on from the subs bench and the stands for much of the last year.
He beamed: "It's a great example. In football you need to go through disappointments, bide your time and wait for an opportunity. Bryan has shown that strength.
"It's been frustrating for him but he has shown he's ready and taken the opportunity to help the team.
"He has brought two goals in two games but more importantly he's shown the defensive concentration in those games too. He's a real example."
