Everton emerged as 3-1 winners when Stoke City made their first Premier League visit to Goodison Park in March 2009.
The Blues, after triumphing 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium earlier in the season, went into the match unbeaten in six and netted two first-half goals.
Jo’s turn and finish on 18 minutes was shortly followed by a tap-in from Joleon Lescott to put the Toffees firmly in control.
The resolute Potters responded through Ryan Shawcross who reduced the deficit with a header.
Stoke, playing their first season in the top flight for 23 years, had their chances and looked to replicate their heroics of the previous fortnight when they came back from 2-0 down at Aston Villa to earn a point.
But the Blues were always dangerous on the break and two minutes into stoppage time, Marouane Fellaini's shot was deflected into his own net by Abdoulaye Faye to seal the win.
