The dissection of England’s performance at Wembley continues apace in the Sunday papers.

The Sunday Mirror carries the story that national team boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he is delaying the decision about which left-back to pick as his number three.

Meanwhile, another red top has Terry Venables claiming England need to build from the back through their centre halves, with Phil Jagielka mentioned.

The Sunday Mail has an interview with Under-21s coach Alan Stubbs in which the former Blues defender discusses his new book, coaching Everton’s next generation and his own aspirations of becoming a manager.

Elsewhere in that publication, Steven Naismith speaks about the honest, workmanlike character in the Scotland dressing room, while James McCarthy reveals the impact fellow summer arrival Gareth Barry has had on his own game in such a short time.

The Sunday Post recently caught up with former Blues midfielder Kevin Kilbane to preview the derby, and to round off Everton’s coverage, the Toffees are linked to a move for Manchester United winger Wilfred Zaha.
