In today’s Liverpool Echo, Roberto Martinez has praised Leon Osman for his experience and versatility. Despite Osman only playing for the final thirty minutes against Aston Villa last Saturday, Martinez has promised that the player will not be restricted to a sub’s role this season.

Martinez has also said that Nikica Jelavic is showing no signs of discontent despite hardly playing so far this season. He believes that there is a healthy competition between Jelavic, Arouna Kone and Romelu Lukaku, which has ensured that each striker is playing to their best.

Sylvain Distin believes that Everton’s squad is more balanced than last season, with players who can come off the bench to change a game. He is keen that the team keep up their fine run of form through a tough run of fixtures over the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Everton are one of many Premier League teams considering an offer for the Blackpool winger Tom Ince in January. However it is expected that the Blackpool owner will not let his prized 21-year-old go for less than £5m.
