Everton are linked with Serbia striker Filip Djordjevic in Tuesday’s Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has already scored seven goals for Nantes this season and the Blues are reported to be one of a number of clubs that are monitoring his progress.

Elsewhere, Roberto Martinez has praised the performances of Tim Howard in the Liverpool Echo .

Howard was in outstanding form in the weekend win over Aston Villa and the Toffees boss has described the American goalkeeper’s performances this season as ‘faultless’.

Ian Snodin has also been having his say on Howard in his weekly Echo column. The former Blues midfielder has reiterated Martinez’s comments, saying that the 34-year-old stopper remains ‘one of the best in the business’.

Snods also states his admiration for Leon Osman, who reacted to the disappointment of being dropped from the starting line-up at Villa Park by emerging from the bench and producing a match-winning half-hour cameo.
