Distin Demands Response

by Adam Clark @efc_adamclark

Sylvain Distin wants Everton to make an immediate return to winning ways this weekend and put the blocks on Hull's impressive start to life back in the top flight.

The Blues go into the game at Goodison Park looking to recover from their first league defeat of the campaign at Manchester City last time out.

Hull, meanwhile, head to Merseyside unbeaten since the end of August and just a point and a position behind the seventh-placed Toffees.

"It's another big game," stressed Distin in an exclusive interview with evertontv. "As I keep saying, there is no game more important than any other in the league.

"But obviously we want to do well at home, so we need to catch up after the defeat to City."

The clash with Steve Bruce's Tigers will bring only a second home 3pm kick off of 2013/14 for Everton and a first since the opening Goodison game of the season.

Distin believes it's the time both players and fans like to see their football played and hopes to witness a similar atmosphere to that which inspired Roberto Martinez's men to a 3-2 win over Newcastle United two Monday evenings ago.

"We want a big turn out, as always," said the Frenchman. "To me, 3pm seems to be the normal time and I have to say I don't really like it when we play earlier or later than three.

"I have my own habits - when I wake up, when I eat, when I do this, when I do that - and I just enjoy it when the game is at 3pm.

"I think the fans are the same. Everyone has their own habits and their own way to do certain things before the games and it changes everything when you're playing later or earlier."
