With the Premier League on hold, Friday's newspapers are packed with stories previewing the weekend's World Cup qualifiers. The national newspapers all predict Leighton Baines will start when England line-up against Montenegro this evening, with Phil Jagielka highly likely to take a place at centre-back alongside him. Darron Gibson tells the Liverpool Echo he has 'something to prove' as he prepares to relaunch his international career. The Blues midfielder is part of the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time since Euro 2012 - a tournament in which he had to settle for the role of unused substitute. Steven Naismith appears in the Daily Express as he closes in on his 25th Scotland cap, admitting his desire to increase his goals tally on the international stage. Match reports from Thursday's England Under-21 fixture against San Marino feature in The Times, among others. John Stones played the full 90 minutes as the Young Lions ran out 4-0 winners. Meanwhile, Everton's away day pledge for travelling Blues and Goodison visitors makes the Independent, the I and the Echo. Full details of the discounted away tickets and more can be found here. The Echo also refer to the fact that neither the Gwladys Street End nor the Kop at Anfield have witnessed a single home league goal this term despite the strong starts to the season both Merseyside clubs have made. Tim Howard also appears in the Echo, claiming Everton have taken on a more attacking mindset under Roberto Martinez, while Howard Kendall uses his weekly column to express his sadness following the death of fellow former Blue Mick Buckley.
