Luke Garbutt's loan stay at Colchester United has been extended by a further month.

The left-back is now set to remain with the League One outfit until 10 November.

In addition, Everton have given the 20-year-old permission to play in the FA Cup, with the Us set to appear in the first round proper on the weekend of 9 November.

So far Garbutt has played four times for Joe Dunne's side, featuring in three draws and a defeat to high-flying Wolves.

The 14th-placed Essex outfit are at home to Walsall on Saturday afternoon.
