Everton captain Phil Jagielka attended a special ‘ladies only’ lunch to help raise over £750 for two local breast cancer charities.
The Blues’ defensive rock was the guest of honour at an exclusive Ladies Lunch at the Hilton Liverpool on Thursday 3 October, in aid of The Lily Centre and Clatterbridge Hospital, which treated and helped two female members of Everton staff to beat breast cancer in recent years.
The event, sponsored by Russell and Case Jewellers, Artdeco Make-up, Weightmans LLP and Pommery Champagne, was hosted by Sky Sports News presenter Vicky Gomersall.

Of course, it also provided an opportunity for a select number of ‘Toffee Ladies’ to meet the Club’s new captain.

Speaking at the launch, Jagielka said: “The lunch was a lot of fun and we helped raise some money for local charities which helped two members of staff beat breast cancer, so a good day was had by all.”
The Ladies Lunch officially kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the Club, which will see the Blues taking part in a number of initiatives to support the campaign.
Guests all received a complimentary glass of Champagne on arrival, a two-course lunch and of course, the chance to meet Jagielka.

During the Ladies Lunch, an exclusive raffle was held with the top prize being a beautiful Russell and Case Mandarin Citrine cocktail stone, set into a sterling silver handmade bespoke ring.
Other prizes included a signed pair of Phil Jagielka’s boots and an overnight stay at the Hilton Liverpool, with all proceeds being donated to The Lily Centre and Clatterbridge Hospital.
