Roberto Martinez revealed the next Everton crest on Thursday morning and immediately declared himself delighted with the fans' choice.
Seventy-eight per cent of Evertonians voted for design A and the manager wore a training jersey with the winning badge on it for his press conference.
And before he discussed the game against Manchester City, he revealed a large board depicting the design to the gathered media and live on evertonfc.com.
He said: "I was impressed when I first saw it but it has been a huge majority of the Evertonians who have chosen this one.
"It captures what we were looking for in terms of having a modern feel to the badge and being a globally recognisable badge without taking away the key icons of the tradition of the football club; that is what the fans have made sure of."
The crest will be used from the 2014/15 season onwards and Martinez is looking forward to seeing it in widespread use when it is rolled out next summer.
He continued: "It is a really nice choice and I am sure the Everton fans will be happy. It is important that the club listened to the fans.
"The badge is very, very important. It means everything. It is the first thing that people associate with the club and straight away you can see icons which represent many years of history.
"The fans made it clear they wanted to see the tower and the motto and i think that it is very important that Nil Satis Nisi Optimum is back on the badge."
