Romelu Lukaku and James McCarthy make their first starts for Everton in tonight's Capital One Cup third round tie at Fulham.

After their introduction from the bench in the 3-2 win at Upton Park on Saturday, the deadline day signings are both named in Roberto Martinez's much changed starting line-up.

Another notable inclusion in the team is Darron Gibson who makes his first appearance of the season after returning to fitness following a knee injury.

Also selected in the first XI are Joel Robles, Bryan Oviedo, John Heitinga, John Stones and Gerard Deulofeu, as Blues boss Martinez, as expected, makes a total of eight changes from the side that began the game against West Ham United.

The only players to keep their place from the previous trip to the capital three days ago are Sylvain Distin, Seamus Coleman and Steven Naismith.

Phil Jagielka is on an extremely strong bench so Distin wears the captain's armband.

Live commentary of this evening's game is available by clicking here, with the broadcast due to commence at approximately 7.55pm.

Everton: Robles, Gibson, Heitinga, Oviedo, Deulofeu, Naismith, Distin, McCarthy, Lukaku, Coleman, Stones (Subs: Howard, Baines, Jagielka, Jelavic, Mirallas, Barry, Barkley)

Fulham: Stockdale; Zverotic, Senderos, Hangeland, Riise; Taarabt, Karagounis, Parker, Kacaniklic; Kasami; Berbatov (Subs: Etheridge, Riether, Amorebieta, Sidwell, Mesca, Rodallega, Bent)
