There are more plaudits for Leighton Baines in Monday’s papers following his stunning set-piece double in the weekend win at West Ham.

In the Liverpool Echo, Gareth Barry has labelled his club and international teammate as ‘world-class’, explaining that not many players would have been able to execute those free-kicks with such precision.

The Echo's match report itself focuses on the wealth positives to take out of Everton’s trip to the Boleyn Ground. There is reference to Romelu Lukaku becoming the first Blues player to score the winning goal on his debut since Alan Ball in 1966, and Roberto Martinez standing alone as the only manager in the Club’s history to remain unbeaten from his first six matches at the helm.

Lukaku features in the Daily Mirror and the Daily Star, discussing his match-winning salvo against the Hammers and how he believes that he can improve his own game by watching every minute of every Premier League match to study opponents’ strengths and weaknesses.

Away from matters on the pitch, the Liverpool Echo reports on the three different designs of the Club crest and how fans now have the opportunity to vote for the one they would like to see Everton adopt from the start of next season.
