Luke Garbutt made his Colchester United debut at the weekend in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Bradford City.
The Bantams went ahead on 15 minutes, with Nahki Wells continuing his impressive scoring run.
Garbutt’s first appearance for the U’s was then tarnished with a booking for bringing down Garry Thompson.
Despite falling behind, Colchester responded with a quick double through Jeffrey Monakana and Jabo Ibehre to put themselves into a 2-1 lead at the break.
The advantage wouldn’t last for long, however, with Wells scoring his second of the game as both teams had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Francisco Junior will have to wait for his Vitesse Arnhem debut after this weekend’s game away at ADO Den Haag was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The game was called off early on Saturday after heavy rain in the area, coupled with a broken drainage system at the Kyocera Stadium, meant the surface was deemed unplayable.
The midfielder could now make his bow for Arnhem when they face league leaders PEC Zwolle on Saturday.
