There has been no footballing action for Everton since last weekend – but it has still been a busy seven days at the football club.

The Blues bagged themselves a point at Cardiff City last Saturday and after the final whistle Seamus Coleman and Leon Osman both offered their verdicts on the result to evertontv.

As Everton’s international stars then headed away to report for duty, the focus switched to the closure of the transfer window, with late activity culminating in three new players arriving at Goodison Park and two departing.

New recruits Gareth Barry and James McCarthy were at Finch Farm late on Monday evening to complete their moves – and no sooner was the ink drying on their contracts, both sat down to talk exclusively to evertontv.

Barry revealed just how much he was looking forward to playing in front of the Everton fans at Goodison Park, while McCarthy expressed his delight at joining a club which he believes can qualify for European competition this season.

Barry was back at the club’s training headquarters the following morning, and again evertontv had it covered as he addressed the media in his first press conference as a Blues player .

Later on Tuesday, Roberto Martinez sat down in front of the evertontv cameras to discuss his three new additions, explaining at length just how much he is looking forward to working with on-loan Chelsea frontman Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees bid farewell to Victor Anichebe and Marouane Fellaini on Monday but one man who remains a Blue is Leighton Baines. Martinez confirmed at a media conference on Friday morning that the Club are now planning to reward the left-back with the offer of a new contract.

In the midst of the deadline day rush, Everton Under-21s were also in action at the beginning of the week, securing an impressive 3-1 win over Reading. Highlights and post-match reaction from Alan Stubbs is also available on evertontv.

Away from Everton’s transfer dealings, the Club’s official YouTube channel has provided more behind the scenes content.

The second instalment of the Access Goodison series offered an insight into the pre and post-match activities at the recent Capital One Cup victory over Stevenage.
