Roberto Martinez has confirmed he is looking to make at least one more addition to his Everton squad before the transfer window closes.

The Blues boss has until 11pm on Monday 2 September to bolster his options and has identified an area in which he feels his side requires reinforcement.

Martinez has already added Arouna Kone, Joel Robles, Antolin Alcaraz and Gerard Deulofeu to his ranks since taking over in July.

And asked if he remains hopeful of introducing further newcomers, the Spaniard said: "It's not about being hopeful, it's about working hard and trying to identify maybe one player if we could.

"But he has to be the right character to adapt to what we want to do at Everton.

"It's not that we are desperate in terms of numbers - that is not the case. We've got good numbers in the squad but we need maybe to have a little bit of help in an area.

"As I say, we will work extremely hard in that respect [to find someone]."
