An Everton in the Community apprentice and budding beauty queen has pledged £1000 of prize money to the charity – if she is named Miss Teen Great Britain.
Amy Judge, an apprentice fundraising assistant at the organisation has promised to give her prize to Everton’s official charity if successful.
Amy is already Miss Teen Merseyside and explained to evertontv why she is so keen to hand over her potential prize money.
She said: “My job within the department is fundraising, I can’t think of a better way of encouraging people to fundraise than leading by example. It would be great to win, but all I can do is my best.
“Everton in the Community have been so good to me, ever since I walked through the door on my first day.
“The work it is involved in is utterly amazing and worthwhile.”
Since beginning work at Everton in the Community, Amy has become acutely aware of all the vital work they do and why raising funds for them is key. She has seen first-hand some of the programmes the charity runs.
She added: “There’s a number of disability football teams, we have people that go in to Alder Hey hospital every day, we’ve got unemployment courses, dementia programmes, social inclusion programmes and we’ve got Safe Hands which helps people who have been in jail to reform and get their lives back on track.”
The final takes place on 1 September in Blackpool’s grand Globe Theatre.
Everyone at Everton Football Club wishes Amy the very best of luck.
