Roberto Martinez is confident Gerard Deulofeu will shine in the Everton number 10 shirt once he finds his feet in English football.
The Barcelona playmaker has been eased into life at Goodison Park after sealing a season-long loan switch last month.
He was used sparingly on the Club’s tour of America and made a brief cameo appearance late on in Sunday’s win over Real Betis.
Once fully acclimatised to his new environment, Martinez believes the Everton fans will see why Deulofeu is rated so highly at his parent club.
The Blues boss said: “To say that Gerard is a talented boy is an understatement. He’s got incredible potential – that really raw talent that any fan wants to watch.
“We need to be a little bit patient because Gerard needs to adapt to a different way of playing, in a league with a different physicality, but that was always the plan; to give Gerard a steady introduction.
“Slowly you’re going to see a player that’s going to develop, grow and give us some incredible memories at Everton I’m sure.
“He’s learning quickly. He’s got a terrific attitude, and I’m extremely excited about what he will bring to Everton.”
