Ross Barkley was on the scoresheet as England Under-21s thrashed Scotland 6-0 on Tuesday night.
Barkley came on as a substitute just before half time, joining Everton teammate John Stones on the field at Bramall Lane.
And shortly after the interval the Blues midfielder was on hand to fire home from inside the box after slack Scottish defending.
The strike was Barkley's first at Under-21 international level and he joined Nathan Redmond, Raheem Sterling, Connor Wickham, Jonjo Shelvey and Tom Carroll in netting against the auld enemy.
Stones played the full 90 minutes as England kept a clean sheet.
England senior boss Roy Hodgson was in charge of the U21s on a one-off basis and was impressed by the youngsters.
He declared: "They really did take their chances with both hands, and a lot of those players would certainly not be out of place in the senior team."
