Roberto Martinez and Leon Osman feature in Wednesday’s Liverpool Echo after they both addressed the media ahead of Everton’s friendly against Juventus.

The Blues boss spoke to the Echo about how the Toffees will be facing one of the favourites to win the Champions League next season.

Martinez also revealed how he has been impressed with the number of Evertonians who are supporting the team over in America.

Midfielder Osman, meanwhile, speaks about how he is aiming to impress two managers this season – Martinez and England boss Roy Hodgson – and that he is looking forward to the prospect of pitting his wits against Juve midfielder Andrea Pirlo in Thursday morning’s friendly.

In the national newspapers, the Daily Mirror’s back page features a splash on Joey Barton, claiming that the QPR man would be prepared to take a huge pay cut to join Everton this summer.

Elsewhere, another tabloid reports on Conor McAleny’s goalscoring double for Brentford against Cardiff City last night. The on-loan Everton youngster helped the Bees to a 3-2 friendly win on his debut for the west London club.
