Kevin Mirallas believes Arouna Kone’s goalscoring capabilities will ensure the Ivory Coast striker becomes a Goodison Park favourite this season.
The Belgian international, along with the former Wigan Athletic man, attended a signing session at Everton Two last Wednesday as the Club officially launched the new home kit for 2013/14.
Hundreds of Blues fans visited the city centre store to meet the duo who posed for photographs and sent the autograph-hunting supporters home happy.
Having proved popular off the field, Mirallas is convinced his new teammate can be just as successful on the pitch too.
“I think first and foremost, he [Kone] is a great guy,” Mirallas told evertontv. “He seems a nice guy and he's settled in well with the squad.
“He's going to bring an awful lot to the team. We have a lot of attackers already, so when you add his presence to the attacking force we had last season, I think it's going to be very positive.”
Mirallas and his teammates jetted out to San Francisco on Sunday to begin their pre-season tour of the United States.
The Blues are aiming to return from America with the International Champions Cup trophy in their grasp – but Mirallas insists the primary purpose for the trip is preparation for the new Premier League season.
“The three games we have coming up in the States are going to be quite special occasions, they are big games,” explained the former Olympiacos winger.
“It's a funny one - do you go for three victories and then start off in the league with a defeat?
“Obviously you'd prefer it the other way round where you start with a victory in the league.
“The main thing is that everyone stays fit for the start of the season and are raring to go.”
