A number of first-team players have already featured in evertontv’s Tour Tales series.
The next Blue to provide his best and worst pre-season recollections is a member of the Club’s backroom staff, Kevin Sheedy.
In the latest episode, the Under-18s coach reminisces about his travels with the legendary Everton side of the 1980s.
But it’s a trip away with the Republic of Ireland – the nation he represented on 46 occasions – that sticks in his mind as one of the most enjoyable football excursions.
“My favourite tour was probably the build-up to the World Cup in 1990 when we went to Malta for two weeks to prepare,” Sheedy told evertontv.
“There were a great set of lads and we lived in each other’s pockets for two weeks, plus the other three weeks when we were at the World Cup.
“We had some real jokers in the team like John Aldridge, Andy Townsend and Tony Cascarino. Even when you were sat around there was always lots going on.
“There were some brilliant tricks from the pranksters that will live long in the memory.”
To find out who Sheedy notes as his best and worst roommates, as well as the toughest taskmaster he worked under, watch the video above.
evertontv will be speaking to more current and former players about their Tour Tales as the summer rolls on.
