Arouna Kone could be set to make his first appearance in an Everton shirt after he was named in the matchday squad for Wednesday’s friendly with Accrington Stanley.
The Ivory Coast striker linked up with his new teammates at the beginning of the week and has been thrown straight into the group for Roberto Martinez’s first match as Blues boss on English soil.
Fellow new signing Antolin Alcaraz is also in the travelling party.
Another summer recruit, Joel Robles, earns his second successive start after playing the full 90 minutes against Austria Vienna at the weekend.
Phil Jagielka captains the team, while Victor Anichebe has been selected to spearhead the Everton attack. There are also starts for Leon Osman, Darron Gibson, Kevin Mirallas and Sylvain Distin.
Blues fans will have to wait until at least the Blackburn match to see Gerard Deulofeu in action as the on-loan Barcelona forward is only due to link up for pre-season training at the start of next week.
