After Steven Naismith took to the hotseat last week, Victor Anichebe has been the latest Blues player to discuss his favourite and worst pre-season memories in evertontv’s new feature Tour Tales.

The Nigerian striker has just returned to English shores after the first-team’s week-long training camp in Austria – a common destination for the squad at this time of the year.

But one particular long-distance overseas trip in the summer of 2010 lives long in the mind of Anichebe – and not for enjoyable reasons.

“No disrespect to Tim [Cahill] if he is listening but Australia was a horrible trip,” Anichebe joked. “We couldn’t sleep and the time difference is crazy.

“Australia, for me, is the same as England just a bit warmer. I don’t understand why everyone goes to Australia.”

To find out who Anichebe believes is the best trainer in Everton’s current crop and the toughest taskmaster he has encountered, watch the video above.*

evertontv will be speaking to more first-team players about their Tour Tales as the summer rolls on.
