Yesterday’s swoop for Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu is covered in Thursday’s newspapers.

The Daily Mirror and Daily Express’s report of the transfer features quotes from manager Roberto Martinez who describes the youngster as possessing ‘incredible football talent’.

Deulofeu has also been speaking about his move to Goodison Park. In the Liverpool Echo, the 19-year-old says he has always followed the Premier League and he cannot wait to get started at his new club.

The Echo runs their third instalment of the ‘Roberto Martinez story' which looks at the Spaniard’s time at Swansea. Lee Trundle is interviewed about how Martinez influenced the Swans - both as a player and manager.

Also in the Echo, Phil Jagielka has welcomed the addition of Arouna Kone and Antolin Alcaraz to the club.

Joel Robles is also featured in the paper, explaining that he is ready to compete with Tim Howard for a place in the Everton first team.
