Sylvain Distin says Everton will have no problems adapting if Roberto Martinez opts to go with three central defenders next term.

The Spaniard was known to use the tactic on occasions with Wigan but Distin believes the Blues will be ready to embrace any changes the new man makes.

“It’s something we’ve done before,” said Distin. “I think we played two or three games further back [in time] with David Moyes and it was okay.

“It’s just a matter of habit. If we work at it in training, I don’t see why we will not be able to do it.

“We’ve got intelligent players here so it should be fine.”

Distin was answering questions sent in by fans via Twitter. Watch the video above* now to see what he had to say about the skills of Kevin Mirallas in training, the person he’d least like to race and who he’d back as the victor of a Royal Rumble-style Everton brawl.
