Three Everton Ladies were involved in England's final warm-up match ahead of this summer's European Championships.
Jill Scott, Rachel Brown-Finnis and Toni Duggan each played 45 minutes as the Lionesses were defeated 4-1 by tournament hosts Sweden on Thursday evening.
With their Euro 2013 fixtures commencing next week with an opening group game against Spain, Hope Powell's side were looking for an encouraging performance in Uddevalla.
Midfielder Scott started the contest, which appeared to be going swimmingly when Arsenal's Ellen White clipped the ball cooly past Kristin Hammarstrom to give England a 12th-minute lead.
But the Swedes had turned the tables by half-time, as Antonia Goransson and Lotta Schelin netted in the space of four minutes.
The interval brought about changes from both nations, the emergence of Duggan and Brown-Finnis two of five England substitutions.
The latter was kept busy in goal for the remaining 45, denying Schelin, Charlotte Rohlin and Lisa Dahlkvist in quick succession.
The hosts' skipper Caroline Seger found a way through on 51 minutes, while Schelin grabbed her second to make it 4-1 with 22 minutes left on the clock.
England's tough workout continued and striker Duggan was unfortunate to see an effort cannon off the bar as Powell's side succombed to defeat.
