Thursday’s Daily Mail is reporting that the former Everton captain Phil Neville has been reunited with David Moyes after joining Manchester United’s backroom staff.
The 36-year-old, who left the Blues at the end of last season, is said to be taking up the position of first team coach at Old Trafford.
The Daily Mail also say that Neville will be joined by another familiar face at United, with Robbie Cooke also expected to join the Red Devils as chief scout.
Elsewhere, Roberto Martinez’s quotes describing Leighton Baines as an Everton ‘icon’ feature in the Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express.
In the Liverpool Echo, Martinez has been speaking about Arouna Kone, describing him as the ‘complete striker’. The Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park.
The Echo also reports on young defender Luke Garbutt extending his stay at Everton until 2015. The left-back yesterday signed a new two-year deal with the Blues.
