Everton are set to revive their interest in FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer, according to Wednesday’s Daily Mail.

The Dutch international, who starred at the recent Under-21 European Championships in Israel, is again linked with an £8million switch, five months after a deal to move to Goodison fell through during the January transfer window.

In the Liverpool Echo, Roberto Martinez has been speaking of his eagerness to start work on the training pitch with the Everton squad.

The Spaniard revealed that he is ‘very much looking forward to getting the next few weeks out of the way’ before the players return from their summer break at the start of July.

Also in the Echo, Steven Pienaar explains that he has no regrets in deciding to retire from international football.

The South African called time on his career with Bafana Bafana last year and says that he is enjoying the chance to spend extra time with his family.

The appointment of Alan Myers as Everton’s new director of communications is also mentioned in the Echo.
