Everton’s vacant managerial position is the main topic of conversation in Tuesday’s newspapers.
The Daily Mail are reporting that the Blues have agreed a £1.5million compensation package with Wigan Athletic for Roberto Martinez and that the Spaniard will bring assistants Graeme Jones and Kevin Reeves, along with goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara and conditioning coach Richard Evans with him to Goodison Park.
The Daily Mirror and Liverpool Echo report that Martinez could be appointed the Club’s new manager within the next 24 hours. The same Daily Mirror article mentions that in total 10 candidates were interviewed for the position.
Further stories on Martinez can be found in the Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Daily Express and Daily Star.
Meanwhile, The Independent say that former Everton captain Phil Neville is expected to move back to Old Trafford to become part of David Moyes’ backroom team at Manchester United.
Also in the Liverpool Echo, Shane Duffy speaks about how Alan Stubbs and David Weir have had a positive influence on his fledgling career. Watch an interview with Duffy here.
