Everton Ladies manager Andy Spence has called for calm heads and composure from his players as they prepare to face Liverpool on Tuesday.
Having picked up a 1-1 draw in the first derby meeting of the campaign in March, Spence is looking for his side to continue their steady recent form by taking more points off their Merseyside rivals.
The Blues are unbeaten in five going into the clash – but Spence knows the Blues face a daunting challenge against the current WSL leaders.
“Liverpool have had heavy investment this season,” he told evertonfc.com. “They have good individual players, they seem to improve as a team all the time and you have to give them the maximum respect.
“I think the first game we played against them last time was a real battle and I have already said to the players to make sure we are composed in the game on Tuesday so our qualities do come through and we don’t get wrapped up in anything else.
“Liverpool are a good team, but there are also seven other good teams in the league as well, including us. I am looking forward to it.”
Kick-off against Liverpool this Tuesday (4 June) is at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at only £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions. Supporters can buy tickets at the gate on the day of the game.
