Blues To Face Italian Champions

by Matthew Gamble @efc_mattgamble

Everton will kick off their USA tour with a game against Italian champions Juventus.

Last week the Club confirmed details of a glamourous pre-season tour covering three American cities.

The Blues will first face Juventus at AT&T Park in San Francisco, kicking off at 8pm local time on 31 July (4am on 1 August, BST).

AT&T Park is the home of the San Francisco Giants. The match is Everton's first of a three game trip, with subsequent opponents depending on first round results.

Tournament organisers have devised a three round tournament with teams in two 'brackets'.

Everton are in the West bracket with LA Galaxy, Real Madrid and the Serie A champions.

It means the Blues' second game is at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles on 3 August. The winners of the Juventus game will face the winners of Madrid v Galaxy.

The East 'bracket' contains Chelsea, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Valencia.

All eight sides will convene in Miami for the third round where teams will face off to determine their final positions.

Everton's match at Miami's Sun Life Stadium will be on either 6 or 7 August, with the opponents depending on other sides' results.

The full bracket can be seen here.
