It's Groundhog Day in today's papers as Roberto Martinez is again linked with the vacant managerial hotseat at Goodison Park.

According to the Daily Star Sunday and the Independent on Sunday, Martinez will decide this week whether to  throw his hat in the ring or stay with Wigan.

The Mail on Sunday carries the same story but reports the Blues will turn to former captain David Weir should Martinez opt to remain at the DW Stadium.

The Sunday Mirror mention Swansea's Michael Laudrup as a possible contender for the role, while the Sunday Telegraph say consideration is also being given to Molde boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Mirror , meanwhile, suggest former Blues boss David Moyes would like to make midfielder Marouane Fellaini his first signing at Manchester United.

With England set to take on Republic or Ireland on Wednesday, attention also turns to the international scene.

Roy Hodgson is widely quoted urging his next generation of centre-backs to step up to the plate following the retirement of Rio Ferdinand, while Phil Jagielka has admitted 2014 World Cup places are up for grabs.
