Andy Spence will be fully focused on continuing their good form against Birmingham City at the Arriva Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are searching for their third successive victory after a 2-1 Continental Cup triumph against Chelsea and a 2-0 win at Lincoln a week ago.

Three points against the second city outfit could elevate Everton up to third in the Super League table, hot on the heels of pace-setting Liverpool and Chelsea.

But despite his optimism, Spence is acutely aware that last season's runners-up Birmingham, who have so far registered two draws from their opening fixtures, will prove to a tough nut to crack.

"We know we will be facing a good side in Birmingham, who have already shown again this season they are going to be pushing for the top places again,” Spence said.

“We need to ensure we go into the game fully focused and ready to build on our recent performances.

“We know from the games we have played so far that the teams are very closely matched and every game requires your best performance if you want to come away with three points.”

Tickets are available on the gate at the Arriva Stadium for tonight’s fixture priced at £5 for adults with concessions at £2.50. Attendees will also be able to take part in a raffle with a signed piece of merchandise up for grabs.
