Moyes Points To Progress

by Matthew Gamble

David Moyes has set his sights on securing Everton's best ever Premier League points total.
The Blues moved to 63 points on Sunday with a comfortable win over West Ham in Moyes' final home game.
And victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge would see Everton's total surpassing the 65 point mark accrued in 2004/05.
On Sunday Everton's chances of finishing fifth - and in a European place - were extinguished when Spurs beat Stoke.
The current tally of 63 points would have secured European football in nine of the last 10 seasons.
"I think the team have been great," said Moyes.
"Up until maybe two weeks ago, you were still talking about us getting Champions League football.
"You look at the run that Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea have been on in the last six weeks, it's only their runs that have stopped us getting closer, and we've not done bad ourselves.
"We qualified for the Champions League with less points than we can finish with, so I think you'd have to say we've had a really good season and I'm really proud of my players.
"We're up there with a really good points total. In a lot of years, it would have got you in Europe - sixth would have got you in Europe. For us not to get that this year is incredible because of the way we've played."
