Stubbs Goes With Experience

@Everton

Alan Stubbs has named an experienced side to face Newcastle United in this evening’s Under-21s play-off at Goodison Park (7pm kick-off).

Jan Mucha, Steven Naismith Bryan Oviedo and Ross Barkley – all players who have tasted first team football this season – take their place in the starting line-up.

The league rules permit the use of a maximum of three over-age outfield players and one over-age goalkeeper in a matchday squad.

There is also a midfield berth for John Lundstram, who has returned to Merseyside after helping Doncaster Rovers secure the League One title during his loan stay at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Conor McAleny is back from injury to lead the attack, while John Stones, Tyias Browning, Shane Duffy, Matthew Kennedy and Chris Long complete the team.

Supporters are be able to attend the game with Season Ticket holders and FOREVERTON members eligible for free entry on production of their membership or season cards.

Tickets are available on the night - priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions - with cash only accepted on the turnstiles.

Alan Stubbs' side are unbeaten in 2013 and won their section comfortably. If they beat Newcastle they will travel to Spurs in what is effectively the semi-final stage.

Everton U21s: Mucha, Stones, Oviedo, Lundstram, Duffy, Browning, Kennedy, Barkley, McAleny, Naismith, Long (Subs: Springthorpe, Garbutt, Grant, Green, Duffus)

Newcastle U21s: Alnwick, Mbabu, Gillesphey, Bigirimana, Tavernier, Satka, Richardson, Miele, Gilliead, Ameobi, Inman (Subs: Logan, Mitchell, Aird, Aarons)
