Gibson Has Chance But No Neville

@Everton

Phil Neville has made his last appearance in a Merseyside derby after David Moyes confirmed that the captain will miss Sunday’s trip to Anfield with a knee injury.

The Blues boss could welcome Darron Gibson back to the fold after the midfielder sat out of last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Fulham.

“He will have a chance,” was Moyes’ response when asked about Gibson’s availability at his pre-match press conference. “He didn’t make it last week but has a chance of making it this [week].

Moyes continued: “Phil Neville isn’t fit and won’t be available for the game.”

Neville, who has announced that he will be leaving Goodison Park in the summer, last appeared in a Blue shirt against Wigan Athletic at the start of March.
